Robert Half Administrative Assistant in Bakersfield, California

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant in the Wholesale Distribution industry, based in Bakersfield, California. This role involves a range of responsibilities, including managing and tracking customer sales, creating and maintaining customer accounts, and providing general administrative support.


• Creating and updating planograms on a regular basis

• Modifying and distributing internal and external reports for sales teams, vendors, and customers

• Assisting with the management and tracking of customer sales, rebates, and profitability

• Creating, maintaining, and updating customer accounts

• Preparing and editing spreadsheets on Excel

• Scheduling and coordinating meetings, events, and special projects

• Assisting in the preparation of presentations, reports, and communications

• Answering phones, collecting information from customers and directing calls

• Monitoring and coordinating schedules

• Typing various letters, reports, and forms

• Organizing documents, sending out mail and packages, filing, and processing received mail

• Collaborating with sales to analyze profit margins and mark ups

• Implementing promotions to the appropriate customers and groups

• Partnering with sales managers and customers to implement retail prices. Requirements • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word

• Proven experience in answering inbound calls and managing both inbound and outbound calls

• Exceptional customer service skills with a customer-first mindset

• Strong data entry skills with attention to detail

• Experience in managing email correspondence effectively and professionally

• Ability to schedule appointments and manage calendars efficiently

• Demonstrated administrative support experience in a wholesale distribution industry

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities

• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
