Robert Half Medical Coder in Bakersfield, California

Description

We are offering an immediate opportunity for a Medical Coder in the Financial Services industry, located in Bakersfield, California. As a Medical Coder, you will be a crucial part of our Quality Management/Risk team, working closely with providers and office staff to improve quality and risk adjustment coding performance.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze patient medical record information using population health tools to identify and monitor network coding opportunities related to risk adjustment

• Work on ensuring the capture of diagnosis codes for each chronic or major medical condition and educate providers about improving their documentation of medical conditions

• Examine clinical documentation across the network to detect patterns and trends, and collaborate with network providers to enhance clinical documentation in line with CMS Risk Adjustment guidelines

• Create educational materials and tools to assist network providers in improving their clinical documentation and supporting Hierarchical Condition Category coding capture

• Participate in network performance improvement initiatives

• Uphold the confidentiality of personal health information by adhering to policies relevant to the release of medical record information, record retention, and HIPAA privacy and security

• Carry out other duties as assigned

• Use skills in 3M, 3m Coding, Allscripts, AHLTA, Cerner Technologies, Auditing, Billing Functions, Charts - Graphs, Claim Administration, Clinical Trial Operations, and Medical Coding to perform tasks efficiently and effectively

Requirements • Minimum 5 years of experience in the role of a Medical Coder in the Financial Services industry

• Proficiency in 3M and 3m Coding is mandatory

• Proficient in using Allscripts for various tasks

• Experience with Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA) is highly desirable

• Familiarity with Cerner Technologies is a must

• Proven skills in Auditing in a financial services setting

• Experience with Billing Functions is required

• Ability to create and interpret Charts and Graphs

• Experience with Claim Administration is necessary

• Knowledge of Clinical Trial Operations is a plus

• Expertise in Medical Coding is essential TalentMatch®
