This is a leadership role with responsibility over an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, your tasks will include planning and directing all accounting operational functions, managing the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assessing accounting and internal control systems, and guiding departmental staff. What you get to do every single day:
Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
Coordinate and complete annual audits.
Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
Assign projects and direct staff of 4 employees to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Meet financial accounting objectives.
Establishing and maintaining fiscal files and records to document transactions.
Requirements
The ideal Controller candidate should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education.
Other requirements for the Controller position include and are not limited to:
5+ years of experience in accounting roles.
Law firm experience.
Knowledge of Juris.
Excellent computer, accounting software and database skills.
Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
