Robert Half Collections Specialist in Baldwin, New York
Description
We are looking for a Collections Specialist who will be responsible for managing and collecting outstanding accounts receivables from clients and customers. This role requires strong communication skills to effectively address and resolve payment issues, ensuring timely payment and minimizing overdue balances. The Collections Specialist will work closely with the finance team to maintain accurate records and support overall financial health of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Account Management: Manage assigned accounts to ensure timely collection of outstanding invoices.
Customer Communication: Proactively contact customers via phone, email, and mail to follow up on overdue invoices.
Dispute Resolution: Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and customer disputes in a professional and timely manner.
Payment Plans: Negotiate payment plans and settlements within company guidelines.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all collection activities, including customer interactions and payment status.
Reporting: Prepare regular reports on collection status, outstanding balances, and potential risks to management.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies during the collection process.
Collaboration: Work closely with the sales and customer service teams to address any issues that may affect timely payment.
Customer Relations: Maintain positive relationships with customers while enforcing payment terms and conditions.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, or a related financial role.
