Robert Half Accounting Manager in Baltimore, Maryland

Description

We are in search of an Accounting Manager to join our team in the retail industry, located at BALTIMORE, Maryland. This role will involve managing and overseeing various accounting functions in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The employment opportunity being offered is a short-term contract.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes

• Manage and supervise accounting department employees; responsible for day-to-day supervision and leadership

• Use ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems to automate and facilitate the flow of financial information within the organization

• Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions

• Oversee the production of periodic financial reports; ensure that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles

• Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts

• Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management

• Provide a system for management cost reports

• Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit

• Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants

• Work with the financial team to gather and analyze financial data, and then use that information to generate reports that make it easy for others to understand the company's financial state and make decisions.

Requirements • Demonstrated proficiency in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning software

• Solid understanding and experience in managing all Accounting Functions

• Proven experience in Auditing, ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining accuracy in reports and data

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting

• Experience in Month End Close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting

• Knowledge and experience in managing Balance Sheets, including preparing, reviewing and analyzing financial statements

• Experience in developing and managing an Annual Budget, including forecasting and financial planning

• Ability to work in a fast-paced wholesale distribution environment

• Strong communication and leadership skills to manage and guide the accounting team

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field is required

• Professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) is preferred.
