Description

An opening for an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk at a a company in the Distribution field has opened up. This position is offered through Robert Half. As the Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk, you will have the opportunity to become an integral part of a company in the Distribution industry. This Accounts Payable Clerk role will be located in the Baltimore, Maryland area and will be a long-term contract to hire position. In this dynamic department, there is an opportunity for career growth and quick advancement. The Accounts Payable Clerk duties will include matching and batching code invoices, resolving A/P issues, processing expense reports, updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L, and processing checks.

What you get to do every day

  • Handle daily department mail by opening, sorting, and distributing it

  • Provide internal and external audit assistance as required

  • Manage the process of verifying, logging, and mailing checks, including expediting special handling

  • Perform special projects as assigned

  • Carry out a full-cycle A/P

  • Sort, log, scan, and file invoices, checks, and other documents

  • Handle the customer service needs of internal business partners

  • Support the AP/Finance Department by completing administrative tasks

  • Carry out daily processes and controls accurately and on time, and ensure compliance with company policies

    Requirements

  • AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred

  • Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

  • 1+ years of experience in an A/P role preferred

  • Demonstrated communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds

  • Microsoft Excel experience highly desired

  • General familiarity with Manage Vendor Relationships

  • Proven knowledge of Vendor Payment

  • Practical knowledge of Daily Bank Deposits

  • Proficiency in Process Check Requests

  • Process Vendor Invoices experience

  • Foundational knowledge in Process Expense Reports

  • Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
