Robert Half Budget Analyst in Baltimore, Maryland

Description

We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Budget Analyst in the non-profit industry. This fully remote role is based in Baltimore, Maryland, United States. As a Budget Analyst, you will provide institutional budget management support, prepare cost proposals, and assist in the creation of budgets. You will be expected to collaborate with multiple teams and communicate with diverse staff in various locations.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with technical staff to prepare project proposal budgets

• Uphold a service-first approach to ensure quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders

• Prepare supporting documentation for cost proposal submissions, including budget narratives, certifications, financial information, etc.

• Provide cost advice to proposal teams in conjunction with proposal objectives

• Present draft proposal budgets for cost proposal reviews and prepare briefs as needed

• Assist in ensuring compliance with the organization's cost and pricing processes and procedures

• Utilize Microsoft Excel and existing models or templates to assess and update cost allocation methodology, pricing models, workflows, and finance templates

• Provide guidance regarding the interpretation of applicable contract, grant, and cooperative agreement terms and conditions

• Review funder agreements on behalf of the Finance function for compliance and financial requirements and overall risk

• Work closely with the Finance Team post-award to ensure timely setup of accounts in various financial systems

• Lead preparation of and tracking of business development pipeline financial analysis and outlook, continuously updating working budgets and staffing allocations for assigned portfolio and business development pipeline.

Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Budget Analyst role or similar capacity within the non-profit sector.

• Proficiency in budget processes and budget management.

• Experience in preparing cost proposals and drafting budgets.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are essential.

• Capability to draft professional correspondence effectively.

• A bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field is preferred.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

• Proven track record in meeting deadlines and working under pressure.

• Knowledge of non-profit industry regulations and guidelines is beneficial.
