This long-term contract / temporary to hire role is for a Collections Specialist who wants to work in the Baltimore, Maryland area.

Responsibilities

  • Direct all billing and reporting activities in accordance to deadlines

  • Oversee and update customer files to ensure data accuracy

  • Act as liaison in maintaining quality customer service and a positive company image by resolving customer account inquiries

  • Catalog all customer payments to the correct reports

  • Handle inbound and outbound collections calls and correspondence

  • Ensure bankruptcy filings are processed in the correct manner when received

  • Guarantee the processing of payments

  • Abide by all rules and regulations established by the Federal Fair Credit Reporting Act

  • Pinpoint delinquent customer accounts through various means, e.g. written correspondence, phone contact, skip-tracing, and making arrangements for payment Requirements - Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills

  • Solid understanding of consumer collections

  • Adeptness in Inbound Outbound Calls

  • Practical knowledge of customer service

  • Earlier work involving Skip Tracing

  • Foundational knowledge in commercial collections

  • Cash Collections experience highly desired

  • Consumer collections experience preferred

  • Good understanding of skip tracing credit

  • Proficiency in Commercial Collections

  • LexisNexis experience highly preferred

  • General familiarity with Call Center Customer Service

  • Demonstrated knowledge of High Volume Call Center

  • Background working with Accurint

  • 2-3 years of prior high volume collections experience

  • Be able to effectively analyze and make decisions on customer accounts

  • Earlier experience working with various types of accounting software desired

  • AA or BS/BA in Accounting preferred
