Robert Half Finance currently has a full-time opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant to join their growing team in the Real Estate (Development/Property Management industry. The Senior Accountant will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will also be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will lend your skills to developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and look over schedules for the reporting processes. This position is very complex as it plays a part in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. What you get to do every single day
Actively participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks- Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request
Organize schedules for monthly payments and capital lease
Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Manage depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable
Perform the month end close and produce journal entries under minimal supervision
Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation
Take part in various department-wide initiatives
In-depth experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations
Assemble analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting
Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations that include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Ability to work well in matrix organization
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Experience with ERP systems
High attention to detail
Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Skillful in analytical, quantitative and social skills
2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Comprehensive knowledge of account analysis
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
