Robert Half Corporate G/L & Tax Accountant in Baltimore, Maryland

Description

Robert Half has partnered with an established client in the area to hire a Corporate Senior Accountant / Manager (DOE) focused on financial reporting and corporate tax. This is a unique position as it is a hybrid role that will have responsibilities for both tax and corporate accounting / general ledger work. You will be responsible for preparing taxes, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, as well as assisting in the preparation of financial reports and statements. This role requires strong accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a team with a diverse workload and ability to wear multiple hats.

A Sample of Key Responsibilities includes:

  • Prepare and file corporate tax returns in compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.

  • Calculate and document tax provisions, deferred taxes, and effective tax rates.

  • Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

  • Perform financial analysis and reconciliation to identify and resolve discrepancies.

  • Ensure accurate and compliant accounting of employee benefit plans.

  • Assist with the preparation of annual and quarterly financial reports for shareholders, management, and regulatory authorities.

  • Maintain organized and accurate records of financial transactions and tax-related documents.

  • Prepare and file necessary tax forms and reports related to benefit plans.

  • Assist with the documentation of internal controls and procedures related to financial and tax reporting.

  • Work closely with internal and external auditors during financial and tax audits.

  • Assist in implementing audit recommendations and improving internal processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

  • CPA or relevant professional certification is a plus.

  • 3+ years of experience in corporate tax, financial reporting, or public accounting.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.

  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
