We are offering a role for a payroll clerk, located in BALTIMORE, Maryland. The role is for a Payroll Clerk, responsible for managing the payroll and related financial transactions of the institution. This job opportunity is on a contractual basis.

Responsibilities:

• Collecting and compiling data for inclusion in budget documents, financial statements, and other reports.

• Monitoring departmental accounts by gathering reports and records and identifying discrepancies.

• Inputting data, recording, and verifying details of financial transactions in journals, ledgers, and automated systems.

• Reviewing and processing financial documents such as invoices, vouchers, receipts, requisitions, timesheets, and reports, ensuring accuracy of mathematical computations and completeness.

• Utilizing skills in Payroll, Accounts Payable (AP), Financial Transaction, Timekeeping System, Timekeeping software, Microsoft Excel, Financial Statement to perform duties effectively.

• Assisting in moderately complex accounting clerical, or bookkeeping tasks to support accounts payable/receivable, payroll, timekeeping, auditing, and/or other accounting functions.

• Posting journal entries, processing payments, and verifying accuracy of data.

Requirements • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field

• Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Payroll Clerk or in a similar role

• Proficiency in payroll systems and timekeeping software

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and financial transactions

• Strong understanding of financial statements

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail

• Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure

• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines.
