Robert Half Payroll Specialist in BALTIMORE, Maryland


A Payroll Specialist position has opened up at a growing company that Robert Half has partnered with whose duties include supporting the Payroll department in a variety of duties. This role is located in the Baltimore, Maryland area. This is a challenging position with an industry leader, where a self-starter can find strong career growth opportunity. The ideal candidate would be able to effectively communicate with both the internal team and outside customers. The Payroll Clerk position requires the candidate to perform data entry, reconciliation of timecards, paycheck distribution and provide statements to various departments. The selected Payroll specialist candidate would be employed on a contract / temporary basis.

What you get to do every day

  • Arrange data into spreadsheets and the payroll system

  • Communicate with organization employees via a variety of channels to obtain approvals of timesheets

  • Data entry into spreadsheets and the payroll system

  • Conduct clerical duties such as filing, scanning, faxing, photocopying, etc

  • Configure custom reports

  • Build a system of administering and distributing reports

  • Deliver instruction/training to employees regarding the use of payroll-related systems including entry of timesheets, online access of pay statements, etc.

    Requirements - Outstanding data entry skills

  • Proficient in Payroll software

  • Strong organization skills

  • Detailed and have the ability work independently

  • 3+ years of previous payroll experience

  • Skillful in learning new processes and systems

  • Excellent verbal, written, and social skills

  • Proven knowledge of Administrative Assistance

  • Timekeeping System experience

  • Well-founded grasp of Microsoft Excel

  • Experience with Leave Requests

  • Solid understanding of payroll

  • Workday experience

  • General familiarity with Year-end Payroll

  • Command of Workday Payroll
