Description

We are looking for a meticulous Payroll Specialist located in BALTIMORE, Maryland. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be primarily responsible for managing payroll and human resources administration, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of payroll and maintaining accurate employee records. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately process semi-monthly payroll for employees, including out-of-state employees.

• Manage the onboarding and off-boarding process, providing necessary support and assistance.

• Maintain and handle HR files with utmost confidentiality.

• Oversee active garnishments and process them as necessary.

• Assist in adjusting time off and tracking Paid Time Off (PTO).

• Maintain and manage timesheets accurately and efficiently.

• Update and modify employee information, make necessary changes and salary adjustments.

• Log employee actions and maintain a comprehensive record.

• Assist in writing job descriptions as required.

• Process payroll for both salaried and hourly employees efficiently.

• Utilize payroll software for various HR and payroll related tasks.

Requirements

• Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a related role.

• Have comprehensive knowledge and expertise in payroll, including bi-monthly payroll, payroll taxes, and garnishments.

• Familiarity with human resources administration is essential.

• Proficiency in using human resources software

• Demonstrated ability to process payroll, garnishments, and garnishment calculations efficiently and accurately.

• Experience in onboarding new employees is an advantage.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll information.

• Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
