Description

Our client, one of Baltimore’s fastest growing public companies, is adding a Senior Accountant to their Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting. This is a terrific opportunity to work with some of most dynamic and talented Accounting and Finance professionals in the area.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist the financial reporting team in preparing financial statements and footnotes for the Company’s annual and quarterly SEC filings including 10-Ks, 10-Qs, and 8-Ks. Assist with other filings as needed.

  • Perform the quarterly rollforward process of the 10-Q and 10-K financial statements, including populating prior year numbers, updating the documents for newly announced required disclosures, etc.

  • Perform a tie out of the quarterly and annual financial statements prior to each quarterly filing.

  • Prepare the quarterly GAAP checklist.

  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors as needed.

  • Perform control procedures within the financial reporting process in compliance with SOX (including maintenance of process documentation and providing documentation to Internal Audit).

  • Identify and implement process improvements in the financial reporting process

  • Assist in coordinating the preparation of monthly internal reports including generating the reports, collecting flux explanations from the appropriate parties, and packaging the final deliverable for the monthly meetings.

  • Maintain the monthly exchange rates and work with the Consolidations Manager to update rates and assist with the preparation of recurring monthly journals and reconciliation

  • Special project and other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree in Accounting.

  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred.

  • Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Ability to work on and prioritize multiple projects while meeting required goals and deadlines.

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to develop alternatives and solutions.
