Description

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a diligent Bookkeeper in the non-profit industry located in Baltimore, Maryland. As a Bookkeeper, you will be primarily tasked with the monthly processing of operational activities for the accounting department, ensuring all financial data and reports are accurate and timely.

Responsibilities:

• Administer all bookkeeping tasks, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, loan receivable, and construction finance-related bookkeeping and reporting tasks.

• Perform account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations and reconciliations of all subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger.

• Ensure that capital and operating grants and contributions are correctly recorded, allocated, and reconciled to the appropriate ledger accounts.

• Process bi-weekly payroll and employee benefits while monitoring payroll account funds.

• Ensure compliance with all financial and contract reporting requirements for funding, licensing, or regulatory agencies.

• Adhere to internal controls to assure the safeguarding of assets and the reliability of financial statements.

• Assist Finance and Administration Manager with monthly financial statements and ensure their accuracy and timeliness.

• Coordinate with business unit leaders to ensure the accuracy of invoices and vendor billing.

• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and cash flow projections for department managers.

• Review all receipts and disbursements, ascertain correct account distribution, and ensure all supporting documentation is accurate and in order.

• Maintain an appropriate filing system for expenses and contracts

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Bookkeeping role within a non-profit organization.

• Proficient in Account Reconciliation, Accounts Payable (AP), and Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Demonstrated experience in Bank Reconciliations and Bookkeeping.

• Proficient in Data Entry and Microsoft Excel.

• Experience in Month End Close and Payroll processing.

• Capable of preparing Financial Reporting, maintaining General Ledger, and Financial Statements.

• Experience in Annual Budget preparation and management.

• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• High attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred.
