This full-time position is for a Controller who will work in the Banning, California region. Planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff will be essential for this role. Effectively manage self and others within strict time constraints when providing client services will be essential for this role, and a creative type who can lead while also being a team player, generate innovative ideas, and challenge the status quo. Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports
Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis
Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required
Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
Inspect deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations
Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible
Complete tasks beyond formal job responsibilities
Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques Requirements - Excellent communication and organizational skills
Solid understanding of Month-end Close Activities
Proficiency in Corporate Income
Account Adjustments experience preferred
Foundational knowledge in Balance Sheet Reconciliation
Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Be detailed, flexible, and organized
Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
The ideal candidate will be highly-skilled with exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required
