Description

In this role, you will be overseeing the operations of the accounting department, managing outsourced functions and activities, and maintaining a documented system of accounting policies and procedures. You'll also be responsible for ensuring that expenses are recognized in accordance with GAAP, overseeing the preparation of payroll and related activities, and ensuring that periodic bank reconciliations are completed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures

• Manage outsourced functions and activities such as tax, R& D Tax Credit determination, and 409A valuations

• Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures

• Ensure that expenses are recognized in accordance with GAAP

• Oversee the preparation of payroll and related activities

• Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed

• Maintain the chart of accounts and an orderly accounting filing system

• Issue timely and complete financial statements

• Coordinate the preparation of required reports to shareholders

• Manage the production of the annual budget and cash forecasts including development of relevant models

• Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management

• Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit

• Monitor compliance with financial covenants

• Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of ERP systems.
