Robert Half Accounting Manager in Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Description We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity for an Accounting Manager in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. As an Accounting Manager, you will be operating within the commercial contractor industry, managing financial operations, and utilizing various accounting software systems. The role involves on-site work and entails responsibilities such as weekly payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, progress billings, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and supervise all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, and General Ledger.

• Conduct weekly payroll operations ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time.

• Oversee the processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable.

• Manage the preparation and submission of progress billings.

• Carry out comprehensive financial reporting to inform company-wide strategic decision making.

• Conduct regular financial audits to ensure compliance and accuracy.

• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure data integrity.

• Oversee the use of various Accounting Software Systems such as Quickbooks, Sage100, or Intacct.

• Implement and manage ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems.

• Carry out regular reconciliations of accounts to ensure accuracy. Requirements

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems including Sage 100 and Sage Intacct

• Experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning

• Deep understanding and experience with Accounting Functions

• Proficiency in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Knowledge and experience in Auditing

• Experience in handling Billing Functions

• Ability to manage Weekly Payroll

• Familiarity with Progress billing

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Ability to work in a team and also independently

• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

• Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws regarding business operations and accounting

• Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and financial software applications.
