Description
Our client is seeking an interim Controller to join their team immediately! This company is offering a hybrid work schedule including the ability to work from home and some travel/ in-office time weekly (LA/ MS locations). Operating within the accounting industry, the chosen candidate will play a central role in managing and coordinating a variety of accounting and administrative tasks. This role requires a high level of organization and an in-depth understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the creation and issuance of precise monthly financial reports.
• Implement and maintain a robust system of controls over accounting procedures.
• Manage the development of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
• Monitor cash and available funds, providing regular reports to upper management.
• Ensure timely and accurate payment to vendors and proper recording of customer payments.
• Coordinate with external auditors to provide necessary information.
• Oversee the maintenance of an orderly accounting filing system.
• Monitor debt levels and ensure compliance with related covenants.
• Fulfill local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Perform financial analysis as required, focusing particularly on capital expenditures.
Requirements • Solid understanding and hands-on experience with Accounting Software Systems
• Proficient in using ADP - Financial Services
• Comfortable with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
• Comprehensive knowledge of general Accounting Functions
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Familiarity with auditing procedures and principles
• Understands and can participate in budget processes
• Skilled in conducting month-end close procedures
• Experience with account reconciliation
• Ability to manage cash flow and perform cash management duties
• Understanding of cost control principles and techniques
