Robert Half Full Charge Bookkeeper in Baton Rouge, Louisiana


We are in search of a determined Full Charge Bookkeeper for our client. The Full Charge Bookkeeper will control payroll, bank reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, cash flow, financial statement preparation, audit, and full cycle A/P. The Full Charge Bookkeeper might also be allowed to lead the clerical staff. You might be a qualified candidate for this Bookkeeper role if you are a self-driven and organized accounting professional who thrives in a deadline-driven environment with minimal supervision. This permanent employment opportunity is based in the Baton Rouge, Louisiana area.

What you get to do every day

  • Frequent client interaction dealing with Invoicing, Billing and Accounts Receivable

  • Assemble cash account journal entries including loans, taxes, bank fees, 401(k) deductions, etc.

  • Manage sales tax records and create and file quarterly payments

  • Work on special projects occasionally

  • Handle monthly accounting close

  • Clarify business license and gross receipts

  • Produce monthly reconciliations, financial statements and all supporting documents

  • Record budget transfers

  • Organize subcontractor 1099's, and any other IRS year-end requirement

  • Keep Accounts Payable up to date

  • Proficient in credit card management and reconciliation

  • Draw up cash flow projections, as needed

    Requirements - Excellent analytical, organizational, and vendor management skills

  • Accounts Payable (AP) experience preferred

  • Billing experience preferred

  • QuickBooks experience

  • Deep understanding of Microsoft Excel

  • Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

  • Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business-related field preferred

  • Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

  • Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines

  • Strong organization skills

    • Remarkable accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred

    • 5+ years of related experience
