Description
Robert Half is partnered with a well established Baton Rouge industrial company in search of a dynamic Corporate Controller. This role is pivotal within the finance team, providing leadership in accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and tax compliance. As a Corporate Controller, you will be instrumental in developing and building the financial platform that supports our high standards and growth plan. Responsibilities:
• Establish the strategic direction of the accounting function to align with the company’s overall strategic goals.
• Provide accurate and timely consolidated financial statements on a regular basis.
• Establish accounting guidelines and accounting policies & procedures to ensure financial integrity and compliance with U.S. GAAP & other local statutory requirements.
• Implement and monitor internal controls effectively.
• Lead the annual year-end audit process with external auditors and manage the relationship optimally.
• Address various transaction related accounting requirements including opening balance sheet accounting and coordination of third-party appraisal requirements.
• Establish and maintain efficient Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable processes.
• Liaise with outsourced tax providers on data requests and reporting requirements.
• Develop processes and business partner relationships that will improve the flow of financial information within the Company.
• Monitor operating results and budgets and make recommendations regarding cost reductions and profit improvements.
• Handle other duties & projects as assigned
Requirements
• Proven experience in a regional controller role or similar
• Strong understanding of GAAP Accounting principles
• Proficiency in financial reporting and consolidated financial statements
• Familiarity with budget processes and internal control procedures
• Experience in conducting audits and month-end close processes
• Excellent communication and analytical skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with different teams and departments
• Adept at using financial software and databases
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
• Professional certification (e.g. CPA, CMA) is preferred
