Robert Half is partnering with an established but rapidly growing Baton Rouge industrial services company in search of a Senior Accountant! Position Overview:

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting the financial planning and analysis functions of the company in addition to being hands on with general ledger duties. This position will involve collaborating with various departments to analyze financial data, complete general ledger entries and financial accounting functions, prepare budgets, forecast future financial performance, and provide strategic insights to support decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong mix of experience in both accounting and financial analysis, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex financial information to stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of financial statements, trends, and key performance indicators (KPIs). Provide insightful commentary on variances and trends, highlighting potential risks and opportunities.

  • General Ledger/Financial Accounting: Complete general ledger entries and maintenance as needed. Support the month end close process.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Work closely with department heads to develop annual budgets and periodic forecasts. Monitor and analyze budget vs. actual performance, identifying areas for improvement.

  • Strategic Planning: Assist in the development of long-term strategic plans by providing financial insights and recommendations. Evaluate the financial impact of proposed business initiatives and investments.

  • Reporting: Generate and distribute accurate and timely financial reports to management and key stakeholders. Develop and maintain financial models to support decision-making processes.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant financial data and insights. Build strong relationships with department heads to understand business operations and financial needs.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement within the FP& A function. Stay informed about industry best practices and trends in financial analysis.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting. CPA is a plus.

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in accounting, financial analysis and planning roles, preferably in an industrial services or related industry.

  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and analysis tools.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
