Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Description We are offering an opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the Financial Services industry. The position is based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Our workplace offers a dynamic environment where you will be responsible for a wide range of accounting functions. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee all accounting operational functions including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll.

• Handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements.

• Evaluate accounting and internal control systems and lead departmental staff.

• Coordinate month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & General Ledger analysis.

• Prepare cash-flow reports, project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, manage daily cash.

• Ensure the timely execution of monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely collection of cash.

• Present monthly financial reports to the executive committee and partners.

• Assist in the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis.

• Utilize skills in Account Reconciliation, General Ledger, Financial Statement Preparation, Month End Close, Audit, and Microsoft Excel. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role within the financial services industry

• Proficiency in account reconciliation and general ledger management

• Experience in preparing financial statements

• Knowledge and experience in month-end close procedures

• Experience in conducting audits and ensuring compliance with financial regulations

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant accounting software

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (CPA certification preferred)

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

• Proven track record of professionalism and integrity in all aspects of financial management.
