Robert Half Sr. Financial Analyst in Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Description You could be a good fit for this long-term contract / temporary to hire Senior Financial Analyst opportunity in the Education - Trade field! If you're looking for work where you will be our client's primary point of contact for all financial issues, including project spending, planning, forecasting and annual budgeting, this Senior Financial Analyst consultant role might be right for you. In this Senior Financial Analyst consultant role, you will perform analysis of the operating results and financial performance of core business segments supporting public reporting requirements, and provide decision-making support for future company investments. This Senior Financial Analyst will be situated in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Major responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Operations and Accounting to drive improved management reporting by tracking financial results more discreetly and accurately

  • Collaborate with Functional leads to execute management reporting, accounting and compliance advisement, and coordinate alignment of operational initiatives

  • Develop business, operational, and financial processes to be repeatable and understandable for all necessary teams

  • Offer assistance for ad-hoc analysis and presentation requests as necessary

  • Evaluate financial results, summarize key issues, and articulate integral messages to senior management in order to drive existing management reporting

  • Build advantageous relationships with integral business partners and Finance/Accounting leadership

  • Assess and execute financial analysis in order to optimize business performance

  • Survey financial results, condense key trends, appraise current and future business risks, and relay critical updates to senior leadership in the course of normal preparation of monthly and quarterly management reporting Requirements - Ability to think critically and interact with management

  • Proven ability to work cross functionally and influence key decision makers

  • Microsoft Excel experience

  • Budgeting experience

  • Strong communication and social skills

  • Creative problem solver who anticipates risks and opportunities and maintains a vision for continuous improvement

  • Prior experience with process reengineering and optimization

  • Familiarity in office systems, reporting software, databases and other BI tools recommended

  • Proven knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint

  • CPA or MBA preferred

  • Expert Microsoft Excel skills required

  • Applicants are required to hold a Finance, Business, or related field BA/BS degree
