Description
Robert Half is searching for a meticulous Tax Preparer for our client in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In this role, you will be expected to handle various accounting tasks, including matching invoices to purchase orders or vouchers, data entry, and assisting in the process of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. This role also involves providing general accounting and administrative support. This is a short-term contract position.
Responsibilities:
• Support Accounts Payable by handling vendor invoices, disbursement filing, and invoice matching & filing
• Assist with Accounts Receivable by processing daily invoices or credits, applying cash receipts, and contributing to the collection of past-due balances
• Provide general accounting and administrative support, including assistance with General Ledger account reconciliation and month-end closing
• Correct transaction documents, when necessary, which may require revising other documents or entries as well as the original documents
• Classify expenditure codes and accounting codes correctly when coding documents
• Prepare statements and reports utilizing a variety of sources
• Post financial information to journals, registers, and ledgers, either manually or using electronic equipment
• Reconcile discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and understanding the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required
• Assist in budgetary control by monitoring budgets and originating or verifying adjustments and transfers
• Participate in special projects as assigned
Requirements
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required
• Experience with Lacerte Tax Software is necessary
• Must have strong skills in Microsoft Excel
• Demonstrated ability in providing excellent Customer Service
• Understanding of Deductible and Expense Reporting is needed
• Must have strong Documentation skills
• Knowledge in maintaining Financial Records is essential
