Robert Half Collections Specialist in Bay Shore, New York

Description

We are in the process of recruiting a Collections Specialist based in Babylon, New York, United States. This role is primarily focused on and involves the management of aged schedules, customer follow-ups, and analysis of DSO. It's an exciting opportunity that requires proficiency in MS Excel and the ability to collect outstanding dues effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Review and manage aged schedules to ensure timely collection of payments.

• Regularly follow up with customers regarding their payment schedules.

• Analyze Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) to measure the efficiency of the company's collection efforts.

• Utilize MS Excel for managing and updating customer data and financial records.

• Run credit reports to assess the creditworthiness of customers.

• Develop and implement strategies for collecting outstanding dues effectively.

• Monitor customer accounts for irregularities and potential issues.

• Communicate with customers to resolve any disputes or discrepancies in invoicing or payments.

• Prepare reports detailing collection activity and accounts receivable status.

• Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to ensure seamless collection processes.

Requirements • Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Collections Specialist or in a similar role

• Proficiency in using MS Excel for data entry, analysis, and reporting

• Demonstrated ability to collect outstanding debts from clients and customers

• Strong understanding of billing procedures and collection techniques (e.g. skip tracing)

• Familiarity with relevant legal regulations in debt collection

• High-level proficiency in negotiation and persuasion

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Proactive problem-solving abilities and attention to detail

• High level of organizational skills and ability to work independently

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately

• High school diploma is required; a degree in a related field is a plus.
