Description
We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a diligent and driven CFO - Chief Financial Officer in the Life Insurance industry, located in Beachwood, Ohio. As a CFO - Chief Financial Officer, your main duties will be managing accounting, treasury, and annuity departments, ensuring the efficient tracking of KPIs, and overseeing the preparation of financial reports and budgets.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the Controller and the Accounting/Treasury Department
• Manage the Annuity Department and ensure efficient operations
• Coordinate with the Controller for permanent, training, and performance evaluation of staff within the functional areas
• Ensure the performance of the Asset Manager aligns with contractual obligations and Investment Policy Guidelines
• Oversee the preparation and publication of the annual report, as well as the four-year report for conventions
• Direct activities related to the custody, control, and accounting for assets and securities
• Monitor receipt, disbursement, and expenditures of money or capital assets
• Ensure timely preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual statutory and information reports
• Oversee the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, ensuring accuracy and punctuality
• Collaborate with senior management regularly to ensure alignment of departmental goals
• Respond promptly to report requests from National Trustees and Auditors
• Attend Board of Director meetings and Executive Committee meetings as non-voting staff as directed by National President
• Participate in Board committees as directed by the National President
• Carry out duties relating to the National Convention as required
• Direct and prepare financial analysis of operations for management guidance
• Participate as a member of IT Steering Committee and Enterprise Risk Management Committee
• Ensure compliance with all regulations related to financial areas of business and association guidelines.
Requirements • Significant experience in the field of finance, with a minimum of 10 years in a similar position
• Proficient in financial reporting, including the ability to interpret and analyze financial data
• Extensive knowledge of life insurance and annuities
• Demonstrated ability to ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required
• Proven expertise in cash flow management to ensure the organization's financial stability
• Experience in budgeting and forecasting to support strategic business decisions
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and motivate a team of finance professionals
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey financial information to stakeholders
• Ability to strategize and implement financial plans and policies that align with the organization's goals
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for accurate financial planning and reporting
• Advanced knowledge of financial software and applications for efficient financial management.
