Description A current opening through Robert Half, seeks an ambitious, determined Controller to join the team at a prominent services company. The leadership position is responsible for an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, you will be planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. Major responsibilities
Respond on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Give financial reports to executive committee and partners each month
Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection
Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts
Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed
Check deliverables of self and team to certify they meet client expectations
Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible Requirements
CPA or MBA preferred
Deep understanding of financial reporting
Expertise in general ledger
SaaS experience is required
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines
Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills
Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required
High attention to detail
Strong communication and social skills
