Robert Half Job Cost Accountant in Beaumont, Texas

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Cost Accountant based in Beaumont, Texas. As a part of our team, you will be instrumental in maintaining and examining financial records, ensuring internal controls are upheld, and working on various construction projects. This role also involves recording project billings and payments, coordinating posting and maintenance activities, executing monthly closing procedures, and assisting with audit-related documentation.


• Conduct research and analysis of financial records as directed by management

• Safeguard the financial assets of the company by maintaining internal controls

• Set up new construction projects and change orders on existing projects

• Record project billings and subcontractor payments accurately

• Collaborate with field managers to ensure project transactions are accurately recorded

• Prepare and submit required documents as required by customers

• Analyze project trends relating to cost and billings, identify over/under budget items

• Record state, county, and local sales taxes

• Coordinate posting and maintenance activities for construction projects

• Execute monthly closing procedures including recording journal entries and reconciling balance sheet accounts

• Perform financial analysis as directed by accounting management for support of business decisions

• Assist with the provision of documentation related to external and internal audits

• Utilize accounting software systems and ERP solutions effectively

• Perform cost analysis and manage budget processes

• Handle job cost accounting functions. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role as a Cost Accountant

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is essential

• Experience with CapEx is required

• Must have knowledge and understanding of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions

• Familiarity with various Accounting Functions is necessary

• Experience in Budget Processes is important

• Must have a strong background in Cost Accounting and Cost Analysis

• Knowledge of Job Cost is a must

• Experience with Viewpoint Vista would be advantageous

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary

• Must have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Attention to detail and accuracy in work is crucial

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team is required

• Must be able to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is necessary.
