Robert Half Assistant Controller in Belle Chasse, Louisiana

Description

We are in search of an Accounting Manager to be a part of our team located in Belle Chasse, Louisiana. The primary function of this role is to conduct and oversee the daily accounting operations in the manufacturing industry, including supporting the Controller on special projects. This role will also involve significant contribution to the development of new processes and controls as part of a systems conversion.

Responsibilities:

• Perform full cycle Accounts Payable, Cash Posting and bank reconciliations daily

• Maintain accurate financial records and perform hands-on accounting tasks

• Execute monthly end close procedures and ensure timely reporting of financials to executive management

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for various tasks including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP functions

• Engage with owner and operations for sales and cash reporting

• Monitor and manage customer credit applications and accounts

• Handle the onboarding of labor and provide daily/monthly reporting of financials to executive management

• Use your skills in Manufacturing Cost Accounting to enhance financial operations and decision-making

Requirements

• Possession of a bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field

• A minimum of 5+ years of experience in a senior accounting role

• Proven expertise in Manufacturing Cost Accounting

• Demonstrated experience with Month End Close processes

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and related software applications

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred

• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Demonstrated leadership abilities and team management skills

• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports

• High attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
