Description If you put your accounting skills to good use, Robert Half has an opening for a Senior Accountant with a Retail - Furniture company. This role prepares and consolidates financial statements, analyzes and reconciles accounts, analyzes cash flow, creates budgets and forecasts, prepares audits, and manages internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting to attain company goals. To be successful, candidates need to be highly adept at analytics and working in challenging, fast-paced environments. This Senior Accountant role is located in Belle Plaine, Minnesota. Offer involvement in various department-wide initiatives
Delegate resources to Ad-hoc projects as necessary
Prepare monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
Dedication to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Aid in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Provide analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)
Ensure corporate accounting policies, procedures, and controls are followed when working with business partners and be able to provide support on special requests
Supply Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Execute monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP Requirements - Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus
Solid understanding of HRIS
Knowledge of benefits payroll
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
3+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
SEC reporting and SOX compliance is a plus
Familiarity with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
Critical thinking skills and the ability to retain complex work directions
Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
Be detailed, flexible, and organized
Strong time management skills preferred
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
Knowledgeable of ERP systems
Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)
