A successful company is seeking a Controller through Robert Half to take responsibility for its accounting and clerical department. This permanent position is for a Controller who will work in the Bellevue, Washington region. You might be a good fit for this position if you can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. What you get to do every day

  • Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as needed

  • Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

  • Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation

  • Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports

  • Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

  • Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals

  • Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques

  • Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis

  • Meet client expectations by reviewing deliverables of self and team to make sure they meet client satisfaction

  • Able to perform additional tasks beyond formal job duties

  • Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts

The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $150,000.

  • Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required

  • CPA/MBA preferred

  • Sound written and verbal communication skills

  • Prior work done in public accounting is desired

  • Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

  • Great attention to detail

  • Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

  • Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

  • Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

  • Auditing experience

  • Consumer Goods Industries experience required

  • Proficiency in Consumer Goods Industries

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

  • Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines

  • Skillful in analytical, quantitative and social skills
