Robert Half Payroll Specialist in Bellevue, Washington


We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Contract Payroll Specialist for a client in Bellevue for a fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for processing payroll, managing records and payments, and ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Processing payroll data for employees in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Ensure that payroll is processed in compliance with federal and state regulations.

  • Maintaining and documenting all payroll records.

  • Conduct verifications and audits to ensure accuracy of data.

  • Liaise with HR and Finance departments on payroll related queries.

  • Manage employee enquiries related to payroll issues or concerns.

  • Prepare reports for upper management, finance department etc.

  • Collaborate with HR staff to manage wages and employee benefits.

  • Ensuring all payroll procedures are in compliance with company policies and regulations.

  • Resolving issues or discrepancies related to payroll processing.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role in finance or accounting.

  • Deep understanding of payroll and taxes.

  • Experience with payroll software and MS Office (especially Excel).

  • Strong numerical skills and an analytical mind.

  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).

  • Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information.

  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Professional certification (e.g. Certified Payroll Professional certification) is a plus.
