Robert Half Staff Accountant in Bensenville, Illinois

Description We are in the market for a meticulous Staff Accountant to join our team in the Chemicals Manufacturing industry, stationed in BENSENVILLE, Illinois. This role revolves around various accounting responsibilities such as cash application, bank reconciliations, expense report reviews, audit assistance, and the preparation of month-end journal entries. You will also be tasked with the implementation of our upcoming ERP system.

Responsibilities:

• Accurate recording, monitoring, and reconciliation of all cash transactions.

• Keeping track of aged receivables, conducting collection calls/emails, generating monthly statements, and analyzing new customer requests.

• Ensuring the maintenance of DSO per the target and tracking D& B credit reports for all customers.

• Verifying and reconciling all employee expense reports, recording and paying the same, and monthly reconciliation of associated GL accounts.

• Assisting with month-end functions such as general ledger account analyses, month-end closing entries, accrual entries, allocation entries, and reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts.

• Performing the daily reconciliation of banking and monthly account reconciliations.

• Reviewing and approving manufacturing batch variance.

• Handling the annual census report filing and daily invoice report review.

• Serving as a backup for all month-end closing procedures and accounts payable when needed.

• Managing business permits/licenses filing and assisting with all internal and external audits.

• Executing other ad hoc functions and analyses as required. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Proficient in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience in performing Bank Reconciliations

• Solid understanding of General Ledger management

• Proven ability to prepare and review Journal Entries

• Able to carry out Month End Close processes accurately and within deadlines

• Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements in the Chemicals Manufacturing industry

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
