Description
There is a terrific permanent position available for an experienced Staff Accountant at Robert Half. As a Staff Accountant, you will be in charge of preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will also be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. Lend your skills towards developing and implementing accounting policies. Also, you will take part in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position plays an intricate part in producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Located in the Berea, Ohio area, this position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work.
Your responsibilities in this role:
Regular maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Prepare monthly financial close workbooks to support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process
Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable manner
Compose analyses for income statements and monthly balance sheets for management reporting
Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
Produce journal entries and perform the month end close under minimal supervision
Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives
Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments
In-depth experience with reconciling month end balance sheet accounts

Requirements
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Well-founded grasp of month end closings
Quality experience with logistics & distribution
Practical knowledge of manufacturing
Account reconciliation experience required
General familiarity with fixed assets
Proven knowledge of inventory analysis
Foundational knowledge in Bank Account Reconciliation
Payroll for under 100 employees experience
Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)
Cash management experience
1+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines
Outstanding analytical, quantitative and social skills
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Current and relevant ERP system experience
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
