Description

We are working with a law firm client seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Litigation Associate to join our team. You will play a crucial role in all phases of civil litigation, from case intake and investigation to trial preparation.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Case Intake and Investigation:

  • Analyze potential new cases for legal and technical merit.

  • Conduct thorough investigations to gather all relevant facts and identify potential issues.

  • Review, summarize, and highlight key evidence from documents.

  • Research applicable legal statutes and regulations for new cases.

  • Discovery:

  • Manage all aspects of civil discovery, including drafting written discovery requests, conducting meet and confers with opposing counsel, and preparing for and participating in depositions.

  • Motion Practice and Trial Preparation:

  • Draft legal briefs, memoranda of law, and other litigation documents.

  • Assist with preparing for hearings, trials, and depositions.

  • Work with experts to develop and present expert witness testimony.

  • Communication and Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with partners, associates, and paralegals to achieve successful outcomes.

  • Maintain clear and concise communication with clients regarding case progress.

  • Manage confidential case information with discretion and professionalism.

  • Requirements

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree with 2-3 years of experience in civil litigation (class action and antitrust experience a plus).

  • Strong academic and employment record (federal law clerk experience a plus).

  • Exceptional analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.

  • Superior written, drafting, and oral advocacy skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).

  • Results-oriented, self-starter with a strong sense of initiative.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain composure under pressure.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
