Description

Our client is offering an opportunity for a Purchasing Associate role located in the South Jersey area. This Purchasing Associate role primarily revolves around coordinating with vendors, managing purchase orders, and ensuring efficient inventory management. The Purchasing Associate will be essential in maintaining a smooth supply chain process, ensuring timely delivery of raw materials, and building relationships with vendors.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with vendors for the procurement of raw materials, catering to various requirements such as Drop Ship Orders, Inventory Reorders, and Work Orders.

  • Enter data accurately into the computer system.

  • Update and manage ship dates for all orders to guarantee on-time delivery.

  • Generate, oversee, and expedite purchase orders from their creation to delivery.

  • Monitor vendor performance and provide feedback to resolve any issues.

  • Conduct inventory transfers and engage in inventory cycle counts, addressing any discrepancies.

  • Monitor all orders and deliveries for effective inventory management.

  • Foster and sustain relationships with existing vendors while exploring opportunities with potential new ones.

  • Apply knowledge of logistics and procurement best practices to develop effective procurement strategies.

  • Employ Oracle NetSuite Technologies for the administration of purchase and work orders, as well as for vendor inventory management.

    Requirements

The ideal Purchasing Associate candidate should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education.

Other requirements for the Purchasing Associate position include and are not limited to:

  • 3+ years of related experience

  • Proficiency in supply chain management systems including NetSuite

  • Experience in contract management and vendor relations

  • Strong communication skills

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently

  • Able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
