Robert Half Administrative Assistant in Bessemer, Alabama

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Administrative Assistant in BESSEMER, Alabama. This role is primarily in the steel industry, where you will be supporting the accounting department from an administrative perspective. The workplace will require you to engage with various tasks such as answering phone calls, filing, and matching invoices to sales orders.

Responsibilities:

• Answering inbound calls and providing excellent customer service

• Efficiently managing data entry tasks and email correspondence

• Coordinating inbound and outbound calls

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word

• Scheduling appointments and providing administrative assistance as needed

• Assisting in the accounting department by matching invoices to sales orders

• Supporting team members in accounts payable and accounts receivable, inventory, and collections

• Familiarity with industry-specific terms such as proof of delivery, purchase order, receipt, and invoice

• Using software such as AS400 for various administrative tasks

• Ensuring all customer credit applications and records are processed and maintained accurately. Requirements • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

• Experience in answering inbound and outbound calls in a professional manner

• Strong customer service skills with a focus on providing seamless experiences for clients

• Proven ability to manage email correspondence effectively and efficiently

• Previous experience in administrative assistance or related roles

• Ability to perform data entry tasks with high accuracy and attention to detail

• Proficiency in scheduling appointments and managing calendars

• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• High level of discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive information

• Commitment to continuous learning and skills development.
