We have partnered with a client in the non-profit industry seeking a self-motivated Senior Accountant to be a part of their accounting team. The role is based in Washington, DC and is an exciting opportunity for someone continuing to grow in their career. The ideal candidate for the Senior Accountant role will be responsible for assisting with the month-end close process, monitoring and recording grants received, maintaining the general ledger accounts, monthly bank reconciliations, posting journal entries, managing the annual audit, preparing the financial statements, and assisting with other duties as needed. Daily responsibilities of the Senior Accountant include:

· Assisting with month-end close.

· General ledger maintenance.

· Reconciling various accounts.

· Preparation of financial statements.

· Monitoring and reporting of federal grants.

· Research and maintaining compliance with US GAAP.

Requirements

The ideal Senior Accountant we seek must have the following qualifications for consideration:

· 2+ years of accounting experience.

· Experience with accounting for grants, a plus.

· Non-profit experience, required.

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
