Robert Half Accounts Receivable Clerk in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania

Description

We are in the process of seeking an Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team located in BETHLEHEM, Pennsylvania. The successful candidate will be entrusted with tasks such as processing customer applications, maintaining customer records, and handling customer inquiries. The role also involves monitoring customer accounts and taking appropriate action. This is an exciting opportunity offering a long-term contract.

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently and accurately process customer credit applications.

• Maintain and update customer credit records regularly.

• Handle customer inquiries and concerns, providing excellent customer service.

• Monitor customer accounts and take necessary actions when required.

• Prepare and process checks via a remote deposit on a daily basis.

• Apply check and electronic payments to customer accounts promptly and accurately.

• Process adjustments to customer accounts as directed by the customer.

• Research payments or payment application per customer inquiry.

• Assist with correspondences for standard past-due accounts and collections, and contact delinquent accountholders to request payment.

• Collaborate with department manager to reconcile accounts receivable on a periodic basis.

• Maintain and update customer information as directed by the customer.

• Provide copies of invoices and statements of customer accounts as requested.

• Research customer discrepancies and past-due amounts with the assistance of the Manager and other staff.

• Relay changes of information to the appropriate team member.

• Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.

Requirements • Must have experience with Accounts Payable (AP)

• Ability to enter invoices accurately and efficiently

• Experience with entering vendor invoices is required

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting

• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to spot numerical errors

• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

• Strong organizational and time-management skills

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

• High school diploma or equivalent required, associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred
