Robert Half Medical Billing Specialist in Bingham Farms, Michigan
Description We are in the process of recruiting a Medical Billing Specialist for our operation in Bingham Farms, Michigan. Operating within the financial services industry, this role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity. As a Medical Billing Specialist, your primary responsibilities will encompass the management of billing information, the execution of claim transmissions, and the accurate input of demographic data. Furthermore, you will be accountable for the timely and accurate submission of all bills, as well as the successful communication with our coding team and medical offices.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and ensure the accuracy of billing information for assigned clients
• Execute claim transmissions in line with company protocols
• Accurately input demographic data, ensuring minimal transposition errors
• Submit all bills in a timely and accurate manner, adhering to strict deadlines
• Communicate effectively with the coding team and medical offices, fostering strong working relationships
• Perform billing audits as part of quality control measures
• Verify benefits accurately and efficiently
• Handle phone inquiries and direct calls to the appropriate A/R manager as required. Requirements • Proven experience in financial services, preferably in a medical billing role.
• Proficiency in automated billing systems and processes.
• Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of general billing procedures.
• Experience in billing collection, with a track record of successful recovery.
• Familiarity with basic medical terminology, ideally within a billing context.
• Expertise in medical billing, including coding, claims submission, and patient billing.
• Proficiency in electronic billing systems, including the ability to troubleshoot common issues.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in high-volume environments.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills to address billing inquiries and disputes.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
• A relevant certification in medical billing or a related field would be advantageous.
