Robert Half International Accounts Payable Clerk (Part-Time) in BIRMINGHAM, Alabama

Description

A position has opened up for a Part-Time Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk at a company located in Birmingham, AL. This position is offered through Accountemps. As the Accounts Payable Clerk, your skillset will become a vast contribution to the company. This Accounts Payable Clerk is a temporary-to-permanent, part-time position and offers a flexible work schedule. The Accounts Payable Clerk will be required to match and batch code, resolve A/P issues, process expense reports, update and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L, and process checks. The Accounts Payable Clerk will work 20-25 hours a week.

Your responsibilities in this role

  • Provide administrative assistance to the AP/Finance Department

  • Assist with internal and external audits as needed

  • Validate, record and send checks, including expediting special handling

  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned

  • Manage customer service tasks for internal business partners

  • Manage full-cycle A/P

  • Sort, register, scan, and store invoices, checks, and other documents

  • Carry out daily processes and controls accurately and on time, and ensure compliance with company policies

  • Handle daily department mail by opening, sorting, and distributing it

Requirements

  • AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred

  • Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with those in the technical and financial backgrounds

  • Prior experience in an A/P role preferred

  • Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

  • Well-founded grasp of expense reports

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel

  • Blackbaud Software experience

  • Expertise in Blackbaud

  • Foundational knowledge in ADP Workforce Now

  • Accounts Payable (AP) experience desired

  • Proven knowledge of Travel Expense
