Description

A well respected construction company in North Birmingham is looking for an HR Director to join their team. This position offers competitive pay and benefits, great work-life balance, and room for growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborates with the executive leadership team in support of company culture, vision, and growth initiatives

• Develops organizational people strategies by identifying and implementing human resources best practices in strategic planning and organizational design

• Oversees and supports the administration of human resource programs and services including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, organization design, talent acquisition, performance and talent management, employee engagement, and succession planning, training, and development

• Provides performance management guidance to leadership on coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions

• Contributes to the development of human resources policies and forms as appropriate while ensuring compliance with all federal and local employment laws and regulations

• Ensures organizational charts, reporting relationships structures, position tiles, and position descriptions are up to date

• Administers the performance evaluation process and compensation programs, working with the compensation group to ensure competitive wages within the marketplace

• Advises executive leadership of trends related to performance and compensation

• Develops and implements programs to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction consistent with the organization's values and strategic initiatives

• Oversees and supports the talent acquisition and onboarding process from candidate identification, screening and interviewing, competitive offer presentation, and new employee onboarding

• Manages the new employee orientation process, assimilation, and training strategies

• Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations; prepares comprehensive reports, formulates recommendations for action as necessary, maintains and organizes all documentation associated with investigations

• Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organization's human resource information system

• Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to executive leadership

• Tracks KPI’s as outlined within the Human Resource function

• Responsible for department spending, invoice approval, and budget

• All other duties as assigned

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, and/or Psychology

• 7 plus years of progressive experience in Human Resources, at least 3 years in a Human Resources leadership role

• Experience in Employment Law, Compensation, Organizational Development, Talent Management, and/or Employee Relations

• Prior experience in construction industry and/or multiple worksite environments preferred

REQUIREMENTS

• Have and maintain a valid state issued Driver’s License with driving record that meets company guidelines

• Must be authorized to work in the United States now and in the future

• Able to utilize a computer, keyboard, and/or mouse for training needs

• PPE and Health/Safety devices must be able to be worn and fit properly

• Ability to maintain an extremely high level of confidentiality

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS • Travel requirements for this position are up to 30% of the time
