Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Birmingham, Michigan
Description We are seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Birmingham, Michigan. This role focuses on providing efficient customer service to support payment requirements in the service industry. This opportunity offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Audit and process Accounts Payable entries in a timely and accurate manner
• Manage weekly check runs and ensure adherence to company and regulatory guidelines
• Proactively manage the flow of information and documentation
• Identify issues and initiate corrective action as needed
• Process Accounts Receivable accurately and promptly
• Verify that Accounts Payable, Exchange, and Accounts Receivable balances tie at the end of the month
• Review jobs to ensure they are in good standing and take corrective action when necessary
• Maintain professional relationships with both internal and external customers
• Provide clear direction and follow through for issue resolution, coordinating and providing documentation as required
• Use Microsoft Excel and other tools to maintain accurate customer credit records
• Work in a dynamic team environment and support multiple functions. Requirements • Applicant must have proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) practices and principles.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and analytical abilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Previous experience in an Accounts Payable role is desirable.
• Familiarity with accounting software and systems is beneficial.
