Robert Half Finance is seeking an ambitious Controller to become a vital part at an esteemed services company. This is a leadership role with responsibility over an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, your tasks will include planning and directing all accounting operational functions, managing the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assessing accounting and internal control systems, and guiding departmental staff. Complete tasks beyond formal job responsibilities
Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation
Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management
Ensure deliverables of self and team meet client expectations
Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection
Work closely with executive team and partners to facilitate efficient and effective firm-wide operation
Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports
Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis
Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
CPA or MBA preferred
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis
Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued
Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required
