Robert Half Staff Accountant in Bloomfield, Connecticut
Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in the manufacturing industry based in BLOOMFIELD, Connecticut. The role involves the provision of financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data and preparing reports, in a workplace that facilitates professional growth and learning.
Responsibilities:
• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure smooth transactions
• Execute bank reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records
• Oversee the general ledger to keep track of company expenses
• Prepare journal entries to record financial transactions
• Perform month end close procedures to finalize accounts within stipulated deadlines
• Utilize NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP for various accounting operations
• Evaluate financial data and create reports on financial status and risks
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Assist with tax audits and tax returns to ensure compliance with tax regulations
• Liaise with our Financial manager and Accounting manager to improve financial procedures. Requirements • Minimum of three years of experience in an accounting role within the manufacturing industry
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management
• Experience in conducting bank reconciliations
• Proficiency in maintaining and managing General Ledger
• Experience in preparing and posting Journal Entries
• Familiarity with Month End Close procedures
• Proficient in using NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP accounting software
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities effectively.
