Your responsibilities will include the preparation of financial statements; the establishment and preservation of the accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives of the business; and all other general accounting and bookkeeping tasks. This long-term temporary-to-full-time and working remotely, Full Charge Bookkeeper position is located in Warren, Michigan.

Your responsibilities:

  • Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable; handling collections as needed

  • Overseeing work of accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers

  • Retaining historical records through the accurate filing of documents

  • Studying and implementing federal, state, and local legal requirements, filing reports, and communicating with management on needed actions

  • Ensuring monthly, quarterly and year end close happens accurately and on time

  • Tracking fixed assets to produce depreciation schedules

  • Completing bank and general ledger reconciliations; processing payroll

  • Preparing the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet and statements regarding income and cash flows


  • Prior experience with Quickbooks and Peachtree

  • Financial statement preparation experience highly desired

  • Microsoft Excel experience

  • Foundational knowledge in payroll

  • Accounts Receivable (AR) experience

  • Knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Competence with financial data analysis and report generation that is prompt and accurate

  • 3+ years of experience in the bookkeeping field

  • A deep understanding of accrual and cash basis of accounting

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are a must

  • Ability to multitask and communicate effectively with individuals of all backgrounds

  • Capable of working independently with minimal oversight

  • High school diploma or comparable diploma with an AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business preferred

  • Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments

  • Background in payroll preferred
