Description

Our client is in the manufacturing industry, and they are seeking a Cost Accountant to join their team in the south metro area. This role is open due to an upcoming retirement. In this role, you will be expected to perform an array of tasks such as developing and analyzing material costs, performing Oracle close procedures monthly, and offering insights to various departments.

Responsibilities

• Manage and report standard costing and inventory for raw materials and ingredients.

• Collaborate with Procurement on material costs annually and the impacts of cost changes.

• Conduct analysis on purchase price variances and supplier rebates.

• Undertake month-end tasks which include journal entries and reconciling balance sheets.

• Provide support for audits, SOX controls, and inventory requests related to tax.

• Assist in the budgeting processes and updates for IT systems for fiscal planning.

• Use your proficiency in Oracle or a similar ERP to perform various accounting functions.

• Apply your advanced Excel skills, such as pivot tables and lookup formulas, to streamline processes.

• Employ your understanding of variance reporting, GAAP, and SOX to ensure compliance.

• Show your strong communication and problem-solving skills in interacting with various stakeholders and resolving issues.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Cost Accountant role within the Manufacturing industry.

• Proficiency in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning software is mandatory.

• Demonstrated experience in managing Accounting Functions.

• Ability to perform Annual Standard Cost calculations.

• Proficiency in Oracle software is a plus.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and complex formulas.
