Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Tax Preparer in Boone, North Carolina. The job function revolves around the preparation of accurate tax returns and personalized tax preparation services. The workplace is a small firm in the financial services industry.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and small businesses
• Validate tax forms and financial documents for accuracy and compliance with local, state, and federal laws
• Devise tax planning strategies and identify potential tax credits and liabilities
• Respond to client queries regarding tax issues and provide articulate advice
• Keep updated knowledge of tax laws and regulations
• Work closely with financial advisors, attorneys, and other internal stakeholders to ensure tax filing processes align with best practices
• Utilize tax software and other technologies to streamline tax preparation and filing processes
• Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards
• Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently
• Maintain accurate customer credit records.
Requirements • Possess at least 3 years of experience as a Tax Preparer or in a related role
• Proficient in Accounting Software Systems
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services is required
• Familiarity with CCH ProSystem Fx and CCH Sales Tax
• Ability to use Drake Tax Software effectively
• Comprehensive knowledge of Accounting Functions
• Understanding of Allowances in the context of tax preparation
• Excellent Customer Service skills
• Must be able to perform Data Entry tasks efficiently
• Understanding of Deductible in the context of tax preparation
• Must be able to work legally in the United States
• Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.
