This role's duties will require planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. This role's duties will require leading with integrity and reliability and having the ability to manage self and others with urgency, practicality and accountability when providing client services. The Controller position is a full-time opportunity in the Delray Beach, Florida region.

Your responsibilities

  • Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation

  • Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners

  • Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

  • Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

  • Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time

  • Analyze deliverables of self and team to confirm they meet client expectations

  • Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management

  • Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation

  • Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts

  • Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

  • Act on items beyond formal job responsibilities Requirements - Demonstrated knowledge of HR Policy

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Annual Audited Financial Statements

  • Audited Financial Statements experience required

  • Adeptness in Fiscal Policy

  • Financial Statement experience

  • General familiarity with Policy

  • Foundational knowledge in Ad Hoc Financial Analysis

  • Practical knowledge of Policy Guidelines

  • Experience with Financial Policy

  • Policies And Procedure experience highly preferred

  • CPA or MBA preferred

  • Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

  • Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired

  • Self-starter and strong ethical standards

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills

  • Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

  • Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

  • Be detailed, flexible, and organized

  • Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus

  • Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills
